Plaintiff socially and in his professional character and to induce Francis Buckeley Johnson to exclude the Plaintiff from his society and to deprive him of his position as the confidential legal adviser of the firm of Jardine Matheson and Company and of the fees and emoluments thereto pertaining the grievances hereinafter set forth.
The Plaintiff had been for many years past the confidential legal adviser of the said firm of Jardine Matheson and Company and of other persons and firms in this colony and derived large profits therefrom all of which things the Defendant at the time of the committing of the said grievances well knew.
In consequence of the premises the Plaintiff has been and is greatly prejudiced and injured in his credit and reputation and in his profession as a Barrister at Law and the said Francis Bulkeley Johnson has pending proof by the Plaintiff of the falsity of the charges and imputations hereinbefore mentioned refused to employ or consult the Plaintiff as such confidential legal adviser aforesaid and the Plaintiff has lost the benefit of such employment and of the fees and emoluments thereof.
The Plaintiff claims $25,000 damages and prays your Lordships:
1. That the defendant may be ordered to pay the same.
1. That he may have such further and other relief as the nature of the case may require.
